Klassenreise der 7a nach Siwa

TAG 1
Heute verbrachte die ganze Klasse 11 Stunden im Bus. Die ganze Klasse war sehr aufgeregt. Auf dem Weg haben wir eine Pause gemacht. Die Toiletten waren schrecklich. Im Bus haben wir viel gemacht: gegessen, getrunken, Kartenspiele gespielt und gesungen. Die meisten der Klasse haben geschlafen. Als wir in Siwa ankamen, waren wir überrascht und erstaunt. Wir dachten, dass Siwa eine moderne Stadt ist. Aber es ist eine altmodische Stadt. Das Hotel ist nur aus Steinen und Lehm gemacht.

TAG 2
Heute hat die Klasse viel erlebt und viel von Siwa kennengelernt. Wir waren in und auf der Shali Festung, bei den Graebern von Jabal el Mouta und beim Orakeltempel. Zuerst sprechen wir ueber den Shali. Die Festung ist 800 Jahre alt und kann leicht zerstoert werden. Der groesste Feind des Shalis ist der Regen, weil er nur aus Stein und Staub besteht. Im Jahr 1926 gab es einen schlimmen Regen. Drei Tage lang hat es geregnet und das Shali wurde halb zerstoert. Die Einwohner von Siwa haben die Festung gebaut um die Gefahr vor überfallenden Nomaden zu verhindern. Doch wenn die Nomaden nicht genug Essen hatten und es an ihrem Platz nicht regnete, dann haben sie Palmen, Pflanzen und Wasser genommen. In Siwa gab es sechs Brunnen, die die ganze Stadt bewaessert haben. Unser Transportmittel war eine Kareta, ein kleines Fahrzeug, das von Eseln gezogen wird. Die Fahrt in einer Kareta macht viel Spass und ist interessant. Der zweite Platz, an dem wir waren, sind die Graeber von Jabal el Mouta. Das erste Grab war von Si Amun und seinen zwei Soehnen. Amuns Vater kam aus Griechenland, aber Si Amun wurde in Aegypten geboren. Amun hatte zwei Soehne: einer sah aus wie ein Aegypter und der andere sah aus wie ein Grieche. Die alten Aegypter dachten, dass die Sonne nachts eine Reise macht. Also fuhren Schiffe der Sonne hinterher, aber sie fanden die Sonne nicht. Die Legende besagt, dass Affen die ersten sind, die den Sonnenaufgang spueren. Sie klatschen wenn sie spueren, dass die Sonne aufgeht. Anch der besichtigung der Graeber sind wir ins Abdo Cafe gegangen. Auf dem Weg hat ein Esel einen Unfall verursacht. Alle waren erschrocken. Im Abdo Cafe war das Essen sehr gut. Danach sind wir zum Orakeltempel gegangen. Auf dem Weg zum Orakeltempel haben wir eine Wasserschlacht gemacht. Im Orakeltempel gab es sehr alte Sachen. Alexander der Grosse hat diesen Tempel erschaffen. Er hat dort zu den Goettern gesprochen und drei Fragen gestellt. Es gibt drei Orakeltempel auf der Welt und die hat auch Alexander gebaut. Dann sind wir zu einer Insel gegangen, wo wir geschwommen sind und den schoenen Sonnenuntergang genossen haben.

TAG 3

Heute war viel los. Zuerst frühstückten wir. Dann fuhren wir, mit Omar dem Tourguide, zu Jabal Dakrour. Wir mussten mit einem Auto mit Allradantrieb (4x4) fahren, weil wir keine Karetas benutzen konnten. Als wir ankamen, haben wir Fotos gemacht. Einige sind auf den Berg geklettert, aber manche hatten Angst zu klettern. Dann sind wir weiter geklettert, aber es war nicht schwer und nicht einfach. Beim Heunterklettern haben sich viele verletzt. Als wir unten ankamen waren wir erschöpft. Danach zogen wir unsere Schuhe aus und schütteten den vielen Sand aus.
Anschliessend fuhren wir zum Siwa Museum. Unser Führer Omar erklärte uns alles was es im Museum zu sehen gab. Wir machten viele Fotos und bekamen viele neue Informationen. Da gab es sehr vieles zu sehen wie z.Bsp. was die Menschen früher trugen, wie ihre Häuser aussahen, z.B. alte Toiletten, usw…
Nachher fuhren wir zu Cleopatra‘s Bad. Da schwammen wir und hatten sehr viel Spass. Anschliessend assen wir Mittag und danach gingen wir auf eine Safari in die Wüste.
Dort fuhren wir mit dem Sandboard, das war sehr schön und lustig. Nach dem Sandboarding fuhren wir zu einem heissen Bad und entspannten uns dort. Später wollten wir den Sonnenuntergang sehen, aber leider haben wir ihn verpasst. Als letztes assen wir und spielten miteinander.

TAG 4

Heute hat die Klasse viel erlebt. Wir sind aufgewacht und haben gefruehstueckt. Danach hatten wir etwas Freizeit. Wir konnten irgendetwas machen wie z. Bsp. Fahrraeder fahren, UNO spielen, im Zimmer bleiben oder in Siwa spazieren gehen. Aber wir mussten mindestens 3 oder mehr in einer Gruppe sein. Manche sind mit Fahrraedern herumgefahren und manche haben Sachen gekauft oder sind in Siwa spazieren gegangen. Nach 2 Studen war die Freizeit zuende. Spaeter kamen die 4x4 Autos, um mit uns in die Wueste zu fahren. Wir fanden einen guten Platz um nochmal Sandboard zu fahren. Die meisten haben Sandboarding gemacht. Nachher gingen wir zu einem See. Dieser See war sehr kalt, deshalb sind nur ein paar geschwommen, aber trotzdem war es sehr schoen. Als wir fertig waren, haben wir einen perfekten Platz gefunden, um den fantastischen Sonnenuntergang zu sehen. Dort haben wir auch noch ein bisschen Fussball gespielt. Nachdem wir fertig waren, sind wir zu einem Platz in der Wueste gegangen, um dort zu essen und mit einer traditionellen siwanesischen Band zu tanzen und zu singen. Wir assen in Zelten und das Essen war sehr schoen. Sobald wir fertig mit essen waren, kam die Siwa Band. Alle haben getanzt und gesungen, auch die Lehrer. Das war eine Nacht, die wir nie in unserem Leben vergessen werden!!!

TAG 5
Heute sind wir frueh aufgestanden. Wir haben unsere Taschen nach unten gebracht und sind zum Fruehstueck gegangen. Nachher stellten wir unsere Taschen in den Bus. Danach sind wir eingestiegen losgefahren. Nach 10 langen Stunden sind wir endlich in Kairo angekommen.

Zusammenfassung
Wir haben Siwa geliebt, für manche war das die beste Klassenfahrt aller Zeiten. Zuerst, als wir ankamen, sahen wir Siwa und wir dachten, das wird die schlechteste Klassenfahrt in der Geschichte der Klassenfahrten. Aber das stellte sich als falsch heraus. Als wir die Leute dort kennenlernten und als wir bemerkten, dass es dort viele Abenteuer zu erleben gibt und geben wird wollte jeder bleiben und Spass haben. Was uns am meisten gefallen hat, waren die Karetas und das Sandboarding. Siwa ist eine kleine Stadt, aber die Herzen der Menschen dort sind sehr groß.
Siwa war einen Klassenfahrt die wir nie vergessen werden!!!

DAY 1
We went to school so the bus could pick us up to drive us to Siwa. It was a really long and stressful ride but we managed to have fun. We listened to music, spoke to each other and played different games. Some of us slept in the bus but some of us didn’t because it was too noisy. A few hours later we looked out of the window and saw sand everywhere. We then realized that we were in a desert. But after a while we saw trees and old simple houses that were not finished completely. When we finally arrived, we saw small shops and people before we entered the narrow, dark streets that led to our hotel. When we had moved into our hotel and we had had a look around the rooms, we were surprised because we thought it would be different since the website showed other rooms and pictures. We weren't that happy in the beginning but we had to deal with it and soon we got used to it. After that we had dinner and most of us liked the food. Then we went to discover the town and we arrived at the base of Shali Ghadi by mistake sow we decided to climb it. Back home again, we talked for a bit before we went to sleep. Some of us couldn’t sleep because the rooms were really dusty. We eventually did sleep. That was our first day in Siwa.

DAY 2
At first we woke up and had a traditional breakfast in Siwa. It was really good. We were escorted by "karetas" (donkey carriages) which were driven by very nice men. Our teacher Mr. Vees introduced us to our tour guide Omar who was nice, kind and who knew everything in, around and about Siwa by heart. When we went to our first stop in Siwa, the tour guide started talking about Siwan history and that’s what we remember of what he said: The history of Siwa dates back to around 1500 B.C. Shali Ghadi is a fortress: it is surrounded by lots of tall and long buildings so no enemies can ever trespass it. He also said that Shali means "mother " or "home" for the people in Siwa because it protected them and they actually say god protected them from the bedouins. But the problem in the past and still nowadays is that some parts of the building were made of natural material such as for example rocksalt, palms and stones. We can't say the buildings were built to be safe because they can be easily destroyed. It rained once in 1926 for three days and it wrecked a few buildings. He also told us about two Shalis: Shali Ghadi and Shali Oghormy. Shali Oghormy held the famous oracle which was visited by Alexander the Great himself because he was meant to go there and question the oracle. We stood on a very high place where we could see all of Siwa. And there we saw Dakrour Mountain (Jabal Dakrour). After that we went to the Mountain of the Dead (Jabal El Mawta). On the mountain there were tombs and we went into one of them, the tomb of See Amon. Omar explained to us that the drawings that were on the walls were there because people believed that thus the dead will be given mercy in the afterlife. After that we went to the oracle. Omar told us about how people could use the oracle to predict their future, as far as they believed of course. Only rich people could go to get their future predicted. He told us about Alexander The Great who was told by his mother that he's the son of Amun, one of ancient Egypt's gods. He went there and got told that he really is the son of Amun and that he's a half god. After that we went to Abdo Café for lunch. Then we went to Fatnass Island where we swam in a well with clear water. This water comes from under the ground and it never stops. After we swam, we went to watch the sunset but the sun wasn’t even there so we just sat there and drank different drinks and enjoyed ourselves. A while later we went back to the hotel and showered before having dinner. The funniest situation that day was when the two karetas which were pulled by donkeys bumped into each other and one of them fell. When the donkey got up he farted really loudly and we all burst out laughing. We called this incident "Clash of Clan: Donkey Edition". We will never forget the amazing kareta driver Uncle Mohey (3am mohey) who amused us with jokes on our way to every location. It was the most interesting day because we learned a lot about the history of Siwa and the Siwan people.

DAY 3
This day was a very productive day. After breakfast we went to a tour with a 4x4 car with our really nice tour guide to Dakrour Mountain (jabal dakrour). Omar told us about the annual harvest festival and what the Siwan people do these three days. Some of us climbed half of the mountain because they are afraid of heights but the rest climbed the whole mountain to the top. When Abdallah, Laila, Shaden, Vida, Adham Ali, Lina and Mohamed Diab were waiting for the climbers to come back they were really bored and decided to go back down. When they went down they remembered that they forgot the bags of the teachers. So Abdallah, Lina, Adham Ali and Vida went back up to grab the bags. A few minutes later the rest of the class went down with the tour guide and the teachers. We then went to the Siwan Museum which showed an example of a Siwan house and the people’s traditions and the traditional Siwan clothes. After we had finished, we went back to the hotel to grab our stuff before we went to Cleopatra's Bath to swim there. The water was really clear but it was 7 meters deep. After that we went to have lunch. It was delicious as always. We then went with the 4x4 cars to the Great Sand Sea so we could try sandboarding and go swimming in hot water that came from under the ground. When we had finished, we went back to the hotel to shower and then have dinner. After dinner the teachers gave us some board games so we could entertain ourselves. Later on we went to sleep. That was the third day in Siwa.

DAY 4
After breakfast we had two hours where we could do whatever we wanted. Some of us went to buy souvenirs from shops and some went to rent bicycles and rode them. When the two hours were over, we went to have lunch in the hotel. Mr. Vees asked Laila and Vida to thank Omar, our tour guide, for his efforts and his patience with us and told them to get a gift for him. After they had gotten back to the hotel, they spoke a few thankful words to Omar and gave him his gift. He was really surprised and happy and he thanked the whole class and told us that he wishes to see us again in Siwa. After lunch we went to the desert again escorted by the 4x4 vehicles. It was really windy and it was very hard for us to sandboard so most of us stayed in the car. After that we went to Shiatta Lake and swam there. The water was freezing cold but most of us managed to swim there. Afterwards we went to a dune in the desert where we wanted to watch the sunset. On our way the drivers stopped and showed us some whale skeletons. We found it really interesting. We finally watched the sunset and took a lot of pictures, and some of us went sandboarding again. At night we went to have dinner in the desert. After dinner, we were entertained by a Siwan Band. Most surprisingly for us was that one of the singers was Uncle Mohey (3am Mohey) himself. We greeted them all and danced and sang along. We all had a blast and lots of fun. After that we made our way back to the hotel and went to sleep. We were all even too tired to shower before going to bed.

DAY 5
Some boys woke us up at four o'clock in the morning. Then we all gathered in one room and talked for a while. Most of us went back to sleep again in Laila’s and Shaden’s room since it was the biggest one. When it was time for breakfast we all woke up again and took our bags with us to breakfast. After breakfast we all went to the bus and finally made our way back to Cairo. Lots of us slept on the way back home and the bus ride went by quickly – it didn’t feel like a long trip at all. Some people were dropped off in Sixth of October and some were dropped off at school.

SUMMARY
This trip was very funny. We made new experiences and learned lots of interesting facts about the desert, the life in Siwa and its people. The class has grown together closer and even though there were some conflicts, we found a way to solve everyone's problems. We would also like to thank Herr Vees for giving us the opportunity to go to a beautiful place like Siwa with our friends and classmates and we would also like to thank Frau von der Born for accompanying us. It was a trip that we will definitely never forget.
